The Dow was in turbo mode on Tuesday, soaring more than 500 points as investors wiped their brows in relief: President Donald Trump didn’t drop his tariff hammer on day one of his second presidency. Instead, we got an executive order or two — plus rumors that Canada and Mexico might see 25% duties starting in two weeks. Talk about suspense. 😱
Dow Jones (^DJI) leaped 1.2%, breezing above the 44,000 mark.
S&P 500 (^GSPC) climbed 0.9%, inching closer to record territory.
Nasdaq (^IXIC) followed, with a tepid 0.6% gain as Apple and Tesla lagged but Nvidia soared.
